Sailing Courses in St Vincent and the Grenadines - 2009-01-01

Holiday in the sun

We sailed over from Port St Charles Barbados to St Vincent and the Grenadines, this beautiful island group is perfect for providing top quality tuition. The first course of the year was a great success, with an over night passage to Grenada and sailing pilotage into the Tobago Cays. After some wonderful cruising in the Grenadines we headed south for the 2009 Grenada Sailing festival. We have just finished the Grenada sailing festival sailing with Jamie Dobbs on his new boat Loss Horizons, he is a Caribbean racing legend, and sailing a boat he lives on we cleaned up in the racing class with six firsts, a second and a forth, great sailing with the asymmetric spinnaker speeds sustained at 12 knots plus, great fun. We are looking forward to our next charter heading for the Grenadines and then the windward bash back to Barbados. We had the best days fishing ever recorded on the return trip from Carriacou, with a haul of over 80 pounds of first class game fish, we started small with an Albacore weighing in at 8, then a tuna weighing in at 7, then a bar jack weighting in at 3 then a king fish off the spring balance at 25 pounds, and to top it all a barracuda that was estimated at 45 pounds. This is one fishing story that could well grow in the telling, thanks to Neptune and the camera never lies.
