Canaries - 2006-10-01

Pico de Teide

Having enjoyed Graciosa's peace and tranquility, we headed on to Playa Blanca, one of Lanzarote's latest tourist ghettos, very new and spotless but lacking any local culture. We had a great sail over to Gomera, enjoying the 3 sail reach and the excelleration zones between the islands. A hike into the hinterland tested the crews land fitness, all was revived by menu del dia just of the local square in San Sebastian. Fun and music filled the marina here with great playing and singing into the early hours. We have now been in The Canaries for 6 weeks and have enjoyed sharing the delights of this island group with family and friends. We are now on count down for the Atlantic crossing and plan to leave for the Cape Verde islands around the 20 November, and hope to arrive in Barbados between the 15/20 December
